Japan Square

The Japan square is a 14,000 m2 public place of surrounded beauty. Its construction project was started in 1958 and completed in 1962, at the expense of the Japanese colony in Curitiba, supported by the Municipality of Curitiba. There are scattered around the square 30 cherry trees sent from Japan by the Japanese government in honor of the Japanese community rooted in Paraná and in the case, especially in Curitiba. Embedded in a stone, there is a plaque commemorating the arrival of immigrants from this ethnic group in Brazil.
